Sweetcorn Suzie by Janice Wee

When I first conceptualised Sweetcorn Suzie, I wanted to do something comedic like Mr. Bean. Mr. Bean was named after a vegetable so after brainstorming with my husband, I came up with Sweetcorn Suzie.

Personally, I'm a complete klutz. For example, while on holiday in Japan, I fell flat on my face, in slow motion, Mr. Bean style. It would have been comical if I hadn't ended up splitting my front tooth right through the root, grazed my lip and hurt both legs. I'm recovering. Still in physiotherapy for my legs. It's just so Mr. Bean.

Anyway, in my first draft, I decided to write my most outlandish memories, each as a short story and see how it would go. I changed the names of everyone and everything to the point that the readers shouldn't be able to guess who or what was involved unless they actually witnessed the events. I planned to change it in subsequent drafts to make it more fiction, but the feedback I received was that, no one would believe any of it, so I left it as is.

Also the end result turned out to be very different from Mr. Bean. It's more heartwarming than comedic. The last story's a tear jerker.

Emunah Short Stories Update

My next book in the series is about Mei from The Quest from Immortality. In her flight from Beast Corp, the pilot of her plane vanishes. She meets Boris, a rescue pilot who eventually becomes her mentor. Together with Pastor John (John from Book 4), they make their way to the final rebel camp to await the Battle of Armageddon.

This is the working version of the book cover. I'll probably use this unless I come up with something better.

I'm still writing the book. I hope to launch it later this month or the start of the next month. Sorry for the delay, but this book is taking longer than I expected.
